For the City of Grande Prairie, Modern Policing means combining policing with community wellness to create long-term community safety and wellbeing while meeting legislative requirements.
Employing a coordinated, collaborative multi-agency approach to address Grande Prairie’s priority social issues, the GPPS will work with various agencies and departments, including health, housing, addiction services, social services, and community supports.
Through this collective effort, the GPPS will develop immediate, coordinated, and integrated responses, particularly for circumstances affecting the most vulnerable individuals. The ultimate aim: to reduce the risk of harm in a timely manner and ensure the wellbeing of the community.
